It has been arranged to coincide with the 3rd Institution of Engineering and Technology Conference on Automotive Electronics taking place on 28th and 29th June.

Workshop Results
This Workshop was organized jointly by MYCAREVENT, R&D Phase Standardization at DIN and CEN/STAR. It brought together the MYCAREVENT community and standardizers as well as any party interested in standardization activities in the field. The Workshop gave an account of standardization activities undertaken and planned within the framework of MYCAREVENT, while also highlighting ongoing standardization in the framework of formal standards bodies.
The Workshop intensified the exchange of information and knowledge on standards development in all relevant fields covered by MYCAREVENT. Some of the areas targeted for standardization in MYCAREVENT, e. g. interactive circuit diagrams and information modelling, were received with major interest by participants.
A panel discussion gave all participants the opportunity to state their expectations on standardization related to MYCAREVENT as well as to standardization in the automotive field.

MYCAREVENT es un Proyecto Integrado co-financiado por la comisión Europea (proyecto número 004402) que desarrolla soluciones de movilidad para el mercado Europeo de posventa en el sector del automóvil. El objetivo del proyecto es crear un entorno real de servicios móviles, que mejore el acceso a la información de reparación específica necesaria para cada caso concreto de avería.
MYCAREVENT celebra su primer
Evento de Demostración, el 11 de Mayo de 2006, de 9:30 a 17:00, en el RACC Automóvil Club, Barcelona, España.
Podrá conocer de primera mano el proyecto y las soluciones que le puede aportar como técnico de asistencia o taller, sean estos independientes u oficiales. Descubrirá nuevas oportunidades para el mantenimiento de vehículos y el sector de la reparación.
Los aspectos principales del orden del día son:
- Información del proyecto en general
- Presentación e intercambio de impresiones acerca de los últimos resultados de la implementación
- Presentación e intercambio de impresiones acerca de sus requerimientos sobre esos resultados.
Este acto de demostración le ofrecerá una visión interesante de los últimos desarrollos sobre nuevas y prometedoras soluciones técnicas de ámbito Europeo; en nombre del consorcio, RACC Automóvil Club le da la bienvenida a este evento. Todas las presentaciones serán realizadas en castellano.

MYCAREVENT ist ein durch die Europäische Kommission gefördertes integriertes Forschungsprojekt (Projektnummer 004402). Ziel ist die Entwicklung und Umsetzung innovativer mobiler Lösungen für den automobilen After-Sales-Markt. Eine echte Mobile Service Welt für den Techniker und den Fahrer soll durch die sinnvolle Kombination von Dienstleitungen, IT-Diensten und Hardware realisiert werden. Vorteile für den Nutzer entstehen durch den besseren, schnelleren und zielgerich-teteren Zugang zu den im Pannenfall benötigten Reparaturinformationen.
Bei der
Projektvorstellung mit Demonstration am 4. Mai, 2006 13.00 – 17.00 in Wolfsburg, Deutschland
werden Sie das Projekt kennen lernen und entdecken, welche neuen Möglichkeiten sich für Sie durch die MYCAREVENT Lösungen eröffnen.

Presentation of MYCAREVENT at Hannover Trade Fair 2006
DIN, the German standards body, and its R&D Phase Standardization invited MYCAREVENT to the 2006 Hannover Trade Fair, to participate in the forum "tech transfer - Gateway2Innovation" which is the platform for projects to present their results and product ideas to commercial partners and the interested public.
VW as one of the consortium members of MYCAREVENT will give an overview of MYCAREVENT and its standardization activities as part of DIN´s series of lectures on "Innovation and Standardization".
This event (in German) will take place Thursday, April 27, 2006 15:00 to 15:30 in Hall 2, D 16.

MYCAREVENT is an Integrated Project co-financed by the European Commission (project number 004402).
It develops mobile solutions for the European automotive aftermarket. The goal of the project is to create a truly Mobile Service World, providing better access to the specific repair information needed for a specific vehicle break-down or to accsess specific repair information.
Demonstration Event on 27th April, 2006 9.30 – 14.00 bst at RAC house, Walsall, UK
Participants at this event will get to know the project and its benefits as a driver, an independent or franchised roadside
assistance provider, workshop mechanic or service manager.
New opportunities in car maintenance and in the repair environment will be presented.
Key items of the agenda are:
- Information on the project in general
- Presentation, demonstration and discussion of the early implemented results
- Presentation and discussion requirements towards such results

The workshop focuses on mobile technologies, protocols, services and applications for the vehicular domain. In particular, car maintenance, diagnostic, and roadside assistance turn out to be a challenging application area. The integration of wireless personal area networks, local area networks, sensor networks, and next generation cellular networks as well as new innovations of the computer science offer advanced services and applications to support drivers in breakdown situations, emergencies, and daily use. In addition, the roadside assistance can be supported to increase the efficiency of their operating processes as well as the consumer satisfaction. This workshop is directed to researchers and engineers of mobile communication systems, mobile services, applications, and business analysts with the special focus on vehicular communication. The workshop’s intention is to contribute to a mutual understanding between the wireless research community and experts in the automotive domain.

Objectives
The objective of this workshop is to bring together practitioners, researchers, solution developers and policy makers to explore the potential for innovation and change in current work practices, to discuss new models for mobile and collaborative work, and to establish interfaces between the various research and innovation activities that are currently going on. In particular we will discuss current practice and future scenarios for new ways of working, address important societal and organizational challenges in creating systems change, propose and discuss new concepts for advanced workplaces including roadmaps for their implementation, and envisage innovative testing and validation environments including “living labs’.
